Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Michelle (She/Her) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience working with individuals and couples. She works with relationship concerns such as infidelity, infertility, and postpartum/parenting adjustment issues which includes infant and pregnancy loss.
Michelle received her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana State University in 2002. Michelle has been providing training for student therapists since 2006 and currently supervises all unlicensed therapists at MN Mental Health Consulting. Michelle also provides training on ethics for therapists and is available for individual consultation on ethics related topics. Michelle is an Approved Supervisor with the Board of Behavioral Health and the Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. In addition Michelle is a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
Michelle’s interest in health is expansive. You might find her researching ADHD, Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, Menopause, Tic Disorders, the Polyvagal response system, the impact of racism on physical health, sexual intimacy or many other health related concerns. Michelle makes a point of bringing this research into the therapy room as a resource to clients. Michelle can always point you in the direction of a good book or podcast about whatever health related topic you are looking for more information on. As you might imagine, Michelle’s style is heavy on collaborative communication, with an emphasis on working together to meet client goals.
You will find Michelle to be compassionate, direct and heavily attuned to helping you identify and meet your therapeutic goals. Michelle believes that your relationship with your therapist should be like your relationship with your doctor, an ongoing connection that you can return to at different points throughout your life to get the right help for your relationship and health related concerns.
